Live Alongside the Past

1888 Cotton Mill Origins

W.B. Berry purchased this 9-acre parcel of land, situated just east of downtown Newnan, in early May of 1888. With construction starting in July of that summer, the Newnan Cotton Mill officially opened the following spring of 1889. Production at the mill brought plentiful opportunities for employment throughout the factory’s many phases, including a dye house, a picker house, and a garage.

Throughout the years, the Newnan Cotton Mill specialized in the production of textiles. During World War II, the mill produced yarns for parachute and harness equipment. Honoring its storied past, this historic mill has been transformed into a unique loft living destination, inviting residents to establish roots of their own in Newnan, Georgia.
